29 CFR  1910.1000(a)(2):  Employees were exposed to an airborne concentration of a contaminant listed in Table Z-1 in excess of the 8-hour time weighted average (TWA) concentration given for that contaminant:  a) Compass Group USA, Inc. DBA Chartwells K12, 1001 Park Ave, Syracuse, NY 13204. On or about January 7, 2025, a food service worker was exposed to 84.9 parts per million (ppm) of carbon monoxide as an 8-hour time weighted average (TWA) from an improperly maintained C24GA Series Gas Convection Steamer. The exposure concentration was determined by the employee's carboxyhemoglobin (%COHb) medical blood gas measurement following the employee's exposure.  This level is 1.7 times the permissible exposure limit (PEL) of 50 ppm.  This exposure occurred over a 130 minute exposure period.   b) Compass Group USA, Inc. DBA Chartwells K12, 1001 Park Ave, Syracuse, NY 13204. On or about January 7, 2025, a food service worker was exposed to 96.0 parts per million (ppm) of carbon monoxide as an 8-hour time weighted average (TWA) from an improperly maintained C24GA Series Gas Convection Steamer. The exposure concentration was determined by the employee's carboxyhemoglobin (%COHb) medical blood gas measurement following the employee's exposure.  This level is 1.92 times the permissible exposure limit (PEL) of 50 ppm.  This exposure occurred over a 120 minute exposure period.    c) Compass Group USA, Inc. DBA Chartwells K12, 1001 Park Ave, Syracuse, NY 13204. On or about January 7, 2025, a food service worker was exposed to 108.1 parts per million (ppm) of carbon monoxide as an 8-hour time weighted average (TWA) from an improperly maintained C24GA Series Gas Convection Steamer. The exposure concentration was determined by the employee's carboxyhemoglobin (%COHb) medical blood gas measurement following the employee's exposure.  This level is 2.16 times the permissible exposure limit (PEL) of 50 ppm.  This exposure occurred over a 120 minute exposure period.  Abatement documentation is required.
