29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use. Hyatt Vacation Club: On or about January 7, 2025, and at times prior to, employees handled and conducted cleaning tasks with various corrosive chemicals in the facility. Employer had the following: a) Laundry room: The employees handled and installed 15lbs corrosive chemical drums including Ecolab Liquid Laundry Chlorine Bleach, and Ecolab Liquid Laundry Built Detergent. The plumbed eyewash station was blocked by household item(s) that prevented access for quick drenching and flushing within the area. b) Maintenance room: Employees conducted cleaning tasks with Ecolab Peroxide Multipurpose Cleaner. The eyewash station was blocked by boxes and electronic equipment that prevented access for quick drenching and flushing within the area. These conditions potentially exposed employees to chemical hazards.
