29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(ii): The point of operation of machines whose operation exposes an employee to injury, shall be guarded. The guarding device shall be in conformity with any appropriate standards therefor, or, in the absence of applicable specific standards, shall be so designed and constructed as to prevent the operator from having any part of his body in the danger zone during the operating cycle. a) Workplace located at 700 East Erie Avenue, Philadelphia, PA - The employer did not ensure an employee using the Swivel 7"x12" Hydraulic Metal Cutting Band Saw to cut metal piping utilized guarding on the unused portion of the saw blade thereby exposing the employee to amputation hazards. b) Workplace located at 700 East Erie Avenue, Philadelphia, PA - The employer did not ensure an employee using a Porter-Cable Electric Tools vertical disk table sander utilized guarding, thereby exposing the employees to abrasion hazards. Conditions noted on or about January 16, 2025
