29 CFR  1910.212(a)(1):One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:  a)  On or about January 17, 2025, the employer failed to ensure that there was guarding in place to protect employees from hazardous exposure  of the unused portions of the saw blade on the Ellis Mitre horizontal Bank Saws (Serial #18071078 and 18077136) located in the manufacturing building #1.  Employees are exposed to struck by hazards of the exposed portions of the saw blade.  b)  On or about January 17, 2025, the employer failed to ensure that there was guarding in place to protect employees from hazardous exposure  to the rotating assembly on the Walker Turner Drill Press (Serial #11-4497) located in the manufacturing building #1.  Employees are exposed to struck by hazards and flying debris due to lack of guarding on the drill bit and chuck.

29 CFR  1910.215(a)(4): Work rest(s) on grinding machinery were not adjusted closely to the wheel with a maximum opening of one eighth inch:  On or about January 17, 2025, the employer failed to ensure that the work rest on the Wilton Portable Bench Grinder was adjusted to no more than 1/8 of an inch from the abrasive wheel.  The work rest had a gap of approximately 3/4 inches/2 CM from the abrasive wheel.  Employees are exposed to struck-by and/or caught-in-between hazards.

29 CFR  1910.215(b)(9):  The distance between the abrasive wheel periphery(s) and the adjustable tongue or the end of the safety guard peripheral member at the top exceeded one fourth inch:  On or about January 17, 2025, the employer failed to ensure that a tongue guard was in place on the Wilton Portable Bench Grinder.  Due to the lack of this guard, there was a gap of approximately 3 inches to the grinders periphery.  Employees are exposed to struck-by and/or caught-in-between hazards.
