29 CFR 1910.1200(h): Employees were not provided effective information and training as specified in 29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1) and -2 on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard was introduced in the Plating Room. a) Worksite: On or about January 21, 2025, the employer did not ensure that employees received effective information and training required under the Hazard Communication standard regarding chemical usage in the plating room and the necessary protective measures to reduce exposure to hazardous chemicals.

29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(6): The employer did not ensure that each container of hazardous chemicals in the workplace was labeled, tagged or marked with the product identifier, signal word, hazard statement(s), pictogram(s), precautionary statement(s) and name, address, and telephone number of the chemical manufacturer, importer, or other responsible party. a) Worksite: On or about January 21, 2025, the employer did not ensure that hazardous chemicals transferred to secondary containers were labeled with the product identifier and appropriate hazard warnings. Employees were observed using poorly labeled secondary containers containing nickel plating solution, with illegible chemical names and partially deteriorated hazard labels, creating the potential for chemical exposure without proper hazard identification.
