29 CFR  1910.212(a)(1): Types of guarding. One or more methods of machine guarding shall be provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. Examples of guarding methods are-barrier guards, two-hand tripping devices, electronic safety devices, etc.  a) On or about January 22, 2025, employees manually feeding the RIDGID R4520 Table Saw to dado cut the frames of vinyl windows were exposed to moving parts of the RIDGID R4520 Table Saw to include but not limited to the rotating blade. The employer did not ensure that one or more methods of machine guarding was provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from the rotating blade of the RIDGID R4520 Table Saw.  b) On or about January 22, 2025, employees manually feeding the SAMPSON SC 12 Miter Saw to cross cut the frames of vinyl windows were exposed to moving parts of the Miter Saw to include but not limited to the rotating blade. The employer did not ensure that one or more methods of machine guarding was provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from the rotating blade of the  SAMPSON SC 12 Miter Saw.  c) On or about January 22, 2025, employees manually loading the Sturtz Welder SE-HSM-2HH to weld the frames of vinyl windows were exposed to the moving parts of the Sturtz Welder SE-HSM-2HH to include but not limited to the clamps and welding plate. The employer did not ensure that one or more methods of machine guarding was provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from the clamps and welding plate of the Sturtz Welder SE-HSM-2HH.
