29 CFR 1910.138(a): The employer did not select and require employee(s) to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands were exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasion; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes. a.) Sander Brothers, Inc. dba Sander's Market ; deli department - On or about 1/23/25, and at times prior thereto, employees were not provided with or required to use the cut resistant gloves. Employees were exposed to laceration hazards when handling the cutting blades. b.) Sander Brothers, Inc. dba Sander's Market, Meat department, On or about 1/23/25, and at times prior thereto, employees were not provided with or required to use cut resistant gloves. Employees were exposed to laceration hazards when using the meat grinder and the meat knives. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below). This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

29 CFR 1910.22(d)(1): The employer did not ensure that walking-working surfaces are inspected, regularly and as necessary, and maintained in a safe condition a.) Sander Brothers, Inc. dba Sander's Market, front cash register area - On or about 1/23/25, and at times prior thereto, mats were provided for the cashiers to stand on. One of the mats was damaged with large chunks taken out of it but it was not removed from service. Condition exposed employees to a potential trip and fall hazard. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below). This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

Sander Brothers, Inc. dba Sander's Market, outside of breakroom - On or about 1/23/25, and at times prior thereto, an electrical panel had openings in it from two missing screws and a missing latch. The electrical panel powered lighting. b.) Sander Brothers, Inc. dba Sander's Market - outside of breakroom - On or about 1/23/25, and at times prior thereto, an electrical panel had openings in it from six missing screws and a missing latch. The electrical panel powered freezers and the meat department. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below). This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
