29 CFR 1910.303(g)(1)(ii): Working space required by this standard may not be used for storage. When normally enclosed live parts are exposed for inspection or servicing, the working space, if in a passageway or general open space, shall be suitably guarded. On or about December 27, 2024, at an establishment located at 625 Hager Road in Denmark, Wisconsin, on the mezzanine above the maintenance room; the employer did not ensure that there was 3 feet of working space in front of the QX6 panel. Steel shelving and boxes were stored in front of the access doors to the electrical installation.

29 CFR 1910.303(g)(1)(iii): Space about electric equipment. Sufficient access and working space shall be provided and maintained about all electric equipment to permit ready and safe operation and maintenance of such equipment. At least one entrance of sufficient area shall be provided to give access to the working space about electric equipment. On or about January 24, 2025, at an establishment located at 625 Hager Road in Denmark, Wisconsin, on the mezzanine above the maintenance room; the employer did not ensure that there was sufficient access maintained about motor control center (MCC) 625-ELEC-PDS-MCC-01 and the QX6 panel. Access to the electrical installations was blocked with stored items including, but not limited to, shelving and/or racking units, pallets, and 55-gallon steel drums.
