29 CFR 1910.138(a): Appropriate hand protection was not used when employee's hands were exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasions; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes. (a) ABF Freight System, Inc. 5871 Broadway DENVER, CO 80216: On or about January 22, 2025, employees tasked with handling and breaking down wooden pallets throughout the warehouse facility were potentially exposed to puncture or laceration hazards from protruding nails. The employer did not ensure that appropriate hand protection was provided to or worn by employees performing these tasks.
