29 CFR 1910.28(b)(8): The employer did not provide fall protection systems for repair pits, service pits, and assembly pits:  a)   On or before February 07, 2025, and at times prior, the employer did not ensure that employees were protected from fall related injuries, in that the fall protection netting covering the automobile access pits were not fully functional. In all 3 bays the guard netting covered all but the approximately 10 inches by 36 inches at one end of each of the pits. In addition, the employer failed to provide limited access within 6 feet of the edge of the pit such as, but not limited to, floor markings at least 6 feet from the edge of the pit and posting of readily visible caution signs that meet the requirements of 29 CFR 1910.145. This condition exposed employees to a fall hazard in excess of 4 feet.
