29 CFR 1910.215(b)(9):The distance between the abrasive wheel periphery(s) and the adjustable tongue or the end of the safety guard peripheral member at the top exceeded one fourth inch: (a) R/V Fairweather - Machine Shop - On or about February 11, 2025 and at times prior thereto, employees utilizing the bench grinder were exposed to serious injury from flying debris such as: sparks, metal particles, and fragments of the grinding wheel. Make: Baldor Electric Co Serial No: Serial Number: X0408037044 OSHA Instruction - Shipyard Employment "Tool Bag" Directive - CPL 02-00-162 Effective 5/22/2019 allows the application of 29 CFR 1910.215(b)(9) in the ship repair industry.
