1910.145(a)(1) These specifications apply to the design, application, and use of signs or symbols (as included in paragraphs (c) through (e) of this section) that indicate and, insofar as possible, define specific hazards that could harm workers or the public, or both, or to property damage. These specifications are intended to cover all safety signs except those designed for streets, highways, and railroads. These specifications do not apply to plant bulletin boards or to safety posters. a) On or about January 23, 2025, the employer did not ensure that the material storage area between the paint shop and welding area was demarcated and defined as a non-work area, and employees did not walk in or through area, or on material in the storage area when stacking material or passmg through.

29 CFR 1910.176(b):Secure storage. Storage of material shall not create a hazard. Bags, containers, bundles, etc., stored in tiers shall be stacked, blocked, interlocked and limited in height so that they are stable and secure against sliding or collapse. a.) On or about January 23, 2025, the employer did not ensure that employees were protected from crushing hazards created by the unstable stacking of the 2800lb steel tubes located on the floor between the paint shop and the welding area, in that, the tier material was not stacked, blocked, and interlocked and limited in height in a manner that would prevent it from falling and striking employees.
