29 CFR 1926.451(f)(7): Scaffolds shall be erected, moved, dismantled, or altered only under the supervision and direction of a competent person. Site: 80 Wheaton Way, Water Mill, NY 11976. On or about February 15th, 2025. Employees were installing shingles while working from a job made carpenters bracket scaffold platform approximately 9ft, 8 inches above the ground. When the middle supporting bracket broke while employees were on the scaffold. The scaffold was not erected under the supervision of a competent person. Note: The employer is required to submit abatement certification for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19.
