29 CFR 1910.138(a): The employer did not select and require employee(s) to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands were exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasion; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes: (a) Wash Rooms 1 and 2; On or about February 19, 2025, and dates prior, employees tasked with cleaning and sanitizing sheet pans, containers, and other food handling items using chemicals that were classified as irritant(s), corrosive(s), or otherwise causing rashes and irritation to the lower arms, were not required to wear chemical-resistant gloves and/or sleeves that protect the lower arms from chemical exposure.
