29 CFR 1910.132(a): Protective equipment, including personal protective equipment for eyes and protective clothing were not provided, used, and maintained in a sanitary and reliable condition wherever it is necessary by reason of hazards of processes or environment, chemical hazards, radiological hazards, or mechanical irritants encountered in a manner capable of causing injury or impairment in the function of any part of the body through absorption, inhalation or physical contact: a) 201 Heine Ave, Woodbine, NJ - Production Floor - The employer did not provide workers with flame resistant (FR) clothing and eye protection for employees who operate and/or are required to stand on the stock of the Aljan A 260 Plasma Cutting Machine while energized and in operation, thus exposing employees to burns and eye hazards from flying sparks of molten steel. This condition was observed on or about February 20, 2025. NOTE: BECAUSE ABATEMENT OF THIS VIOLATION IS ALREADY DOCUMENTED IN THE CASE FILE, THE EMPLOYER NEED NOT SUBMIT CERTIFICATION OR DOCUMENTATION OF ABATEMENT OF THIS VIOLATION AS NORMALLY REQUIRED BY 29 CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR 1910.252(b)(2)(iii): Workers or other persons adjacent to the welding/plasma cutting areas were not protected from the rays by noncombustible or flameproof screens or shields or required to wear appropriate goggles: a) 201 Heine Ave, Woodbine, NJ - Production Floor - Employees were permitted to work near and around plasma cutting operations, Aljan A 260 Plasma Cutting Machine, without being protected from arc welding rays, thus exposing the workers eyes to the harmful radiant energy produced by the cutting process. This condition was observed on or about February 20, 2025. NOTE: BECAUSE ABATEMENT OF THIS VIOLATION IS ALREADY DOCUMENTED IN THE CASE FILE, THE EMPLOYER NEED NOT SUBMIT CERTIFICATION OR DOCUMENTATION OF ABATEMENT OF THIS VIOLATION AS NORMALLY REQUIRED BY 29 CFR 1903.19.
