29 CFR 1910.132(b): Employee-owned equipment. When employees provide their protective equipment, the employer is responsible for ensuring its adequacy, including proper maintenance and sanitation of this equipment. The employer did not ensure that employee-owned equipment was adequate as required. On or about February 24, 2025, near RailTrack#1; an employee exposed to hot steam suffered thermal burns while not wearing proper protective footwear.
