29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed: 29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): On or about January 7, 2025, the following portable ladders were used to access an upper landing surface, and their side rails were not extended at least 3 feet past so employees using them were not protected from falling: (a) An aluminum extension ladder placed up against the roofs edge on the West side by the North corner. (b) An aluminum extension ladder placed up against the roofs edge on the South side (back) by the West corner. (c) An aluminum extension ladder placed up against the roofs edge on the North side (front) toward the East. (d) An aluminum extension ladder placed up against the roofs edge on the West side towards the South corner. (e) An aluminum extension ladder placed up against the roofs edge on the North side (front) toward the West.
