OSH Act of 1970 Section 5(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a mechanical hazard. On or about March 6, 2025, at 5200 Dakota Avenue, Dakota City, Nebraska, employees were exposed to a mechanical hazard while cleaning of the Camel Hump #3 conveyor while it was in motion. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable means of hazard abatement include: (1) Working with the host employer/owner of the equipment to improve the guarding. (2) Ensuring employees place the conveyor system in a nonoperational state prior to placing body parts within an unsafe distance to moving parts through enhanced training.
