29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. Vehicle Maintenance Shop: On or about March 04, 2025, and at times prior thereto, a STANDARD - MODERN lathe was missing the chuck guard. Employees are exposed to rotating parts and flying fragment hazards. Notice 1, Item 1, 29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1) as required by 29 CFR 1960.8(b): The employer failed to use or install point of operation guard. The employer was cited for a violation of the same standard and/or same hazard on 03/26/2024, Inspection number 1707703, date 04/17/2024 of final order/settlement, and means of abatement. Notice 1, Item 1, 29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1) as required by 29 CFR 1960.8(b): The employer failed to use or install point of operation guard. Employees were exposed to electrical hazards. Notice 1, Item 1, 29 CFR 1910.305(b)(1)(ii) as required by 29 CFR 1960.8(b): The employer failed to effectively close unused openings in two energized electrical panels. The employer was cited for a violation of the same standard and/or same hazard on 11/07/2023, Inspection number 1685272, date 12/04/2023 of final order/settlement, and means of abatement.
