1910.147(c)(7)(iii)(B): Special hand tools for placing and removing material shall be such as to permit easy handling of material without the operator placing a hand in the danger zone. Such tools shall not be in lieu of other guarding required by this section but can only be used to supplement protection provided.    On or about March 5, 2025, employee(s) operated a Ferry gantry splitter (horizontal band saw) without a special hand tool for removing material to prevent employees from coming into contact with the cutting edge of the blade.
