29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11): Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: (a) On or about March 10, 2025, two employees performing tear off work on the south side of an existing residential roof with a 12:12 pitch, were using body belts in leu of full body harnesses and fall arrest system. This exposed employees to a fall hazard of approximately 25 feet from roof to the ground below. (b) On or about March 10, 2025, an employee performing tear off work on the north side of an existing residential roof with a 12:12 pitched, was using a body belt in leu of full body harness and fall arrest system. This exposed employees to a fall hazard of approximately 25 feet from roof to the ground below.
