29 CFR 1910.134(d)(3)(i)(B)(1): The employer did not select a respirator for employee use that maintained the employee's exposure to the hazardous substance, when measured outside the respirator, at or below the maximum use concentration:  a) On or about March 13, 2025, at the disassembly area at 9371 NW 100th Street, Miami, FL 33178, the employer exposed employees to hazards associated with cadmium, in that supplied-air respirator helmets did not maintain the employee's exposure at or below the maximum use concentration of 5000 micrograms per cubic meter for a plastic blast operator with an 8-hour time-weighted average (TWA) exposure to cadmium of 7074.912 micrograms per cubic meter, which is approximately 1414.98 times the permissible exposure limit (PEL) of 5 micrograms per cubic meter.  b) On or about March 13, 2025, at the polishing area at 9371 NW 100th Street, Miami, FL 33178, the employer exposed employees to hazards associated with cadmium, in that half mask air purifying respirators did not maintain the employee's exposure at or below the maximum use concentration of 50 micrograms per cubic meter for a polisher with an 8-hour time-weighted average (TWA) exposure to cadmium of 64.878 micrograms per cubic meter, which is approximately 12.98 times the permissible exposure limit (PEL) of 5 micrograms per cubic meter.

29 CFR 1910.1027(c): The employer did not ensure that no employee was exposed to an airborne concentration of cadmium in excess of five micrograms per cubic meter of air (5ug/m3), calculated as an eight-hour time-weighted average (TWA):  a) On or about May 01, 2025, at the disassembly area at 9371 NW 100th Street, Miami, FL 33178, an employee engaged in plastic blasting inside the plastic blast booth had an 8-hour time-weighted average (TWA) exposure to cadmium of 7074.912 micrograms per cubic meter, which is approximately 1414.98 times the permissible exposure limit (PEL) of 5 micrograms per cubic meter. The employee was monitored for 460 minutes, and zero exposure was assumed for any un-sampled period of 8 hours.  b) On or about May 01, 2025, at the polishing area at 9371 NW 100th Street, Miami, FL 33178, an employee engaged in polishing had an 8-hour time-weighted average (TWA) exposure to cadmium of 64.878 micrograms per cubic meter, which is approximately 12.98 times the permissible exposure limit (PEL) of 5 micrograms per cubic meter. The employee was monitored for 461 minutes, and zero exposure was assumed for any un-sampled period of 8 hours.

A plastic blast employee was exposed to cadmium in excess of the permissible exposure limit (PEL) of 5 micrograms per cubic meter, with an 8-hour time-weighted average (TWA) exposure of 7074.912 micrograms per cubic meter.
