OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm, including severe burns, to employees in that the facility, processes, and equipment, including the dust collection systems, were not designed, constructed, equipped, and located, to protect employees from fire and explosion hazards:  (a) Weeke Optimat BHC 250 CNC Router - On or about March 19, 2025, the Belfab enclosureless dust collector, model JNBM-OP, serial number 2006-06-20581-1, collected combustible wood dust generated by the router.  The employer had this indoor enclosureless dust collector located directly next to the operator station for the router and along a main aisleway used as a means of egress.  In addition, the dust collector did not get emptied at least daily.  (b) Bradt Optimat KDF 530 Edge Bander - On or about March 19, 2025, the Belfab enclosureless dust collector, model JDW, serial number 2007-12-22742-1, collected combustible wood dust generated by the edge bander.  The employer had this indoor enclosureless dust collector located 10 feet 2 inches from the edge bander and along a main aisleway used as a means of egress.  In addition, the dust collector did not get emptied at least daily.  (c) Bradt Optimat KDF 530 Edge Bander - The employer used PVC ductwork, capable of generating a static discharge, coming out of the top of the edge bander, to capture and transport combustible wood dust, on or about March 19, 2025.  (d) Saw Room - On or about March 19, 2025, the two Bridgewood dual bag enclosureless dust collectors collected combustible wood dust generated by woodworking equipment, including table saws.  The employer had these indoor enclosureless dust collectors located directly next to each other; within 7 feet from the Delta Unisaw 10-inch tilting arbor saw and from an aisleway used as a means of egress; and 7 feet 10 inches from the Casadei EMA KS 14 sliding table saw and from an aisleway used as a means of egress.  In addition, the dust collectors did not get emptied at least daily.  Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and state employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
