All required tags shall meet the following criteria: All employees shall be informed as to the meaning of the various tags used throughout the workplace and what special precautions are necessary. a) On or about March 15, 2025, the employer did not inform employees of the meaning of the two signs located on the Peninsula folding veterinary lift table stating "Warning Foot Pinch Point Keep Back", in that employees did not understand that they could not place the foot pedals on the table base in the location of the pinch point to operate the table.

29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): Types of guarding. One or more methods of machine guarding shall be provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. Examples of guarding methods are-barrier guards, two-hand tripping devices,electronic safety devices, etc. a) On or about March 15, 2025 in room #2, the employer did not ensure that the pinch point hazard located at the base of the Peninsula Folding Veterinary Lift Table was guarded in that employees were exposed to an amputation hazard when the lift table was lowered.
