29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation and/or nip points: a. In the Meat Market area of the grocery store located at 1114 State Road FL-20W, Interlachen, Florida: On or about March 18, 2025, and at times prior, the employer exposed employees to an amputation hazard, in that the Hobart-brand "Bone-In" Band Saw did not have the saw's Upper Guide and Guard Assembly properly adjusted to protect employees from the point of operation and/or nip points at the rotating saw blade, while employees utilized the saw to cut meat. b. In the Meat Market area of the grocery store located at 1114 State Road FL-20W, Interlachen, Florida: On or about March 18, 2025, and at times prior, the employer exposed employees to an amputation hazard, in that the Hobart-brand "Bone-In" Band Saw did not have the saw's Pusher Plate (a guard) available at the saw to protect employees from the point of operation and/or nip points at the rotating saw blade, while employees utilized the saw to cut meat. c.
