29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use: Reference: ANSI Z358.1 Emergency Eyewash and Shower Standard: 5.1.6: Eyewashes shall be capable of delivering flushing fluid to the eyes not less than 1.5 liters per minute (0.4 gpm) for 15 minutes. If shut off valves are installed in the supply line for maintenance purposes, provisions shall be made to prevent unauthorized shut off.  Bldg 477, West end: On or about April 3, 2025, and at times prior thereto, employee(s) worked with car batteries which contained corrosive chemicals such as sulfuric acid. The plumbed eye wash station did not provide adequate water pressure when activated. This condition potentially exposed employee(s) to eye injuries to include blindness.

The employer was cited for a violation of the same standard on February 12, 2024, Inspection 1728323, date March 19, 2024 of final order/settlement, and means of abatement.
