Wichita, KS 67230, employees engaged in residential roofing activities on a 7:12 pitched roof were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 12.4 feet from the eave of the roof to the ground below in that fall protection was not utilized.

29 CFR  1926.1053(b)(1):Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed:  At the temporary jobsite located at 437 N Timberidge Cir. Wichita, KS 67230, employees engaged in residential roofing activities were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 12.4 feet from the eave of the roof to the ground below in that the ladder used to access and egress the roof was not extended three feet above the eave or was not secured to the structure.

Wichita, KS 67230, employees engaged in residential roofing activities were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 12.4 feet from the eave of the roof to the ground below in that the ladder used to access and egress the roof was not set up on a stable and level surface causing it to deflect to the side.
