29 CFR 1910.1000(a)(2): Employee(s) were exposed to an airborne concentration of grain dust (oat, wheat, barley) listed in Table Z-1 in excess of the 8 hour Time Weighted Average concentration of 10 mg/m3: At the worksite located at 1031 North Topping Avenue Kansa City, MO 64120: Employees were exposed to physical hazards in the form of grain dust. Employees were exposed to grain dust levels exceeding the PEL (Permissible Exposure Limit) of an 8-hour Time Weighted Average of 10 mg/m3: a.) When sampled, an employee working in the basement that day was exposed to a time weighted average of 22.9 mg/m3 over a period of 387 minutes. The remaining unsampled period of 93 minutes is assumed to have zero exposure. b.) When sampled, an employee working in loading that day was exposed to a time weighted average of 11.4 mg/m3 over a period of 461 minutes. The remaining unsampled period of 19 minutes is assumed to have zero exposure.

Employees were exposed to grain dust levels exceeding the PEL (Permissible Exposure Limit) of an 8-hour Time Weighted Average of 10 mg/m3. The employer did not ensure the proper function and maintenance of engineering controls and feasible administrative controls were not evaluated.
