ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED

29 CFR 1910.107(c)(7): Electric lamps outside of but within 20 feet of spraying area(s), and not separated therefrom by partition(s), were not totally enclosed to prevent the falling of hot particles: a) On or about 04/22/2025 in the paint spray booths; where the fluorescent light fixtures were mounted on the outside walls of the spray booths but the vapor barrier glass/frame/gasket on several lights was not effective. Several gaskets were missing or no longer intact and many bolts to hold the frames in place were missing, permitting flammable vapor to infiltrate the light fixture. Employees spray paint vehicles with Category 1 flammable coatings. ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED NOTE: 29 CFR 1910.307(f)(9) requires electrical fixtures to be hermetically sealed. This protection technique is permitted for equipment in Class I, Division 2; Class II, Division 2; and Class III, Division 1 or 2 locations.
