29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1):Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a) On or before May 1, 2025, and at times prior, the employer did not ensure that employees were protected from fall injuries, in that employees were installing solar panels while working at a height greater than 40 feet. The workers were installing the panels on a 5-12 pitch roof of a five-story building during windy conditions and with tripping hazards (the solar rack system) near their feet.
