29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10): Each employee engaged in roofing activities on low-slope roofs with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet or more above lower levels, was not protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, or a combination of warning line system and guardrail system, warning line system and safety net system, or warning line system and personal fall arrest system, or warning line system and safety monitoring system. a) At 900 E Calgary Ave, Bismarck, North Dakota, on May 9, 2025, an employee was engaged in roofing operations and attempting to act as a safety monitor on a roof that was over 50 feet wide with no warning lines in place. The employee was standing next to an unprotected edge of the roof and exposed to fall hazards greater than 12 feet without fall protection systems in place. b) At 900 E Calgary Ave, Bismarck, North Dakota, on May 9, 2025, employees of a subcontractor engaged in roofing operations on a commercial building with a roof over 50 feet wide and a 4:12 pitch were exposed to fall hazards of greater than 12 feet without fall protection systems being used when bringing shingles to the dump trailer.
