The machines were not equipped with a safety interlock switch on the front panel door to stop the machine when an operator opens the door.  b) Production Area - On May 13, 2025, the employer did not ensure the unused portion of the blade on the Hitachi Eco horizontal metal cutting band saw, and the Knuth ABS 320 B, horizontal bandsaw, was guarded.  c) Tool Room - On May 13, 2025, the employer did not ensure that the rotating chuck on the Knuth lathe, was equipped with a chuck guard to prevent injury.  d) Machine Shop - On May 13, 2025, the employer did not ensure that the two Bridgeport milling machines, was not equipped with an enclosure guards to protect employees from the rotating chucks.   In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation that abatement is complete must be included with your certification.
