29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface having an unprotected side or edge which was six or more feet (1.8m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. 1-91 Dutch Point Viaduct Rehabilitation Bridge Construction project, 18 Van Dyke Avenue, Hartford, CT: On or about May 13, 2025, employees were exposed to a fall hazard of approximately 23 feet from the edge of the bridge to the ground while preforming concrete drilling and saw cutting activities without fall protection.
