On or about May 20, 2025,  unqualified workers on a ladder and the tools used to trim a Mexican Fan Palm tree were less than 10 feet from unguarded and energized overhead lines with voltage to ground rated at 19,900 V.

29 CFR  1910.333(c)(6):  Where an employee is required to handle long dimensional conductive objects in areas with exposed live parts, the employer did not institute work practices such as the insulation of guarding, and material handling techniques.    On or about May 20, 2025,  tree trimmers were exposed to electric shock/electrocution hazards while performing tree trimming when techniques were not implemented for material handling to minimize the hazard when the worker contacts a branch that is in contact with and/or becomes energized by the powerline.
