29 CFR 1910.179(n)(3)(iii)(b): During hoisting, the load contacted obstructions: On or about May 19, 2025, the employer did not protect employees from caught-in hazards while they were operating a gantry crane. An employee's finger tip was amputated while hoisting a transformer due to the employee holding onto the load while it was hoisted up. The crane operator did not ensure the the load was free of any obstructions during hoisting.
