29 CFR 1910.213(i)(1):All portions of the saw blade shall be enclosed or guarded, except for the working portion of the blade between the bottom of the guide rolls and the table. Bandsaw wheels shall be fully encased. The outside periphery of the enclosure shall be solid. The front and back of the band wheels shall be either enclosed by solid material or by wire mesh or perforated metal. Such mesh or perforated metal shall be not less than 0.037 inch (U.S. Gage No. 20), and the openings shall be not greater than three-eighths inch. Solid material used for this purpose shall be of an equivalent strength and firmness. The guard for the portion of the blade between the sliding guide and the upper-saw-wheel guard shall protect the saw blade at the front and outer side. This portion of the guard shall be self-adjusting to raise and lower with the guide. The upper-wheel guard shall be made to conform to the travel of the saw on the wheel. a) On or before June 18, 2025, the employer did not ensure that the cutting blade, for machines such as, but not limited to; 1-man PD200 bandsaw (Model # PD200B10) was guarded, during production of tearing the pallets down, in that while pushing the pallet through tear down blade the employee's hands would be within 10 1/2" of the moving blade exposing them to a caught-in hazard. b) On or before June 18, 2025, the employer did not ensure that the cutting blade, for machines such as, but not limited to; 2-man bandsaw (Model # Prosaw 15), was guarded, during production of tearing the pallets down, in that while pushing/pulling the pallet through the moving blade the employee's hands would be within 8-10" exposing them to a caught-in hazard.

29 CFR 1910.213(l)(2):Boring bits should be provided with a guard that will enclose all portions of the bit and chuck above the material being worked. a) On or about June 18, 2025, the employer did not ensure that the boring bits on machines such as, but not limited to, the Cemco Multiple Head Boring Machine (Model [Insert Model]) were adequately guarded. The bits remained exposed approximately 4 inches above the material while employees loaded and positioned boards for boring operations.

29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1):Types of guarding. One or more methods of machine guarding shall be provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. Examples of guarding methods are-barrier guards, two-hand tripping devices, electronic safety devices, etc. a) On or before May 19, 2025, the employer did not ensure that the nailer heads, for machines such as, but not limited to; Viking #1 Viking Champion Pallet producing machine (Model # C-304A, Ser. # C674), Viking #2 (Model # C-304A, Ser. # 9900192) and Viking #3 (Model # C-304A, Ser. # 942) were guarded during production, in that employees were placing deck-boards on stringers, and holding them down with their hands while the nailer head carriage would be nailing boards onto the stringers, this exposed employees to a caught-in hazards.
