29 CFR 1910.138(a):The employer did not select and require employee(s) to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands were exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasion a) On or about June 10, 2025, at the Morrison House, employees were exposed to bloodborne pathogens hazards, such as biting, in that protective gloves/sleeves are not used to prevent skin punctures from human bites. b) On or about June 10, 2025, at the Tucker House, employees were exposed to bloodborne pathogens hazards, such as biting, in that protective gloves/sleeves are not used to prevent skin punctures from human bites. c) On or about June 10, 2025, at the Adult Day Training (ADT) House, employees were exposed to bloodborne pathogens hazards, such as biting, in that protective gloves/sleeves are not used to prevent skin punctures from human bites. The Devereux Foundation was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.138(a), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1578252, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 12/08/2022, with respect to a workplace located at 390 Boot Road, West Chester, PA 19380.
