29 CFR 1926.451(g)(1): Each employee on a scaffold more than 10 feet (3.1 m) above a lower level shall be protected from falling to that lower level. Paragraphs (g)(1)(i) through (vii) of this section establish the types of fall protection to be provided to the employees on each type of scaffold. Paragraph (g)(2) of this section addresses fall protection for scaffold erectors and dismantlers. On or about July 10, 2025, a Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) was used to support a wood pallet as a scaffold platform, exposing an employee to a 10 foot fall. 29 CFR 1926.453(b)(2)(v):A body belt shall be worn and a lanyard attached to the boom or basket when working from an aerial lift. Note to paragraph (b)(2)(v): As of January 1, 1998, subpart M of this part (1926.502(d)) provides that body belts are not acceptable as part of a personal fall arrest system. The use of a body belt in a tethering system or in a restraint system is acceptable and is regulated under 1926.502(e). On or about July 10, 2025, an employee was not protected from a fall while working from an aerial lift, exposing the employee to a fall of approximately 16 feet. Abatement documentation is required of this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
