29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards were present, or were likely to be present, which necessitated the use of personal protective equipment. At the jobsite located at 4202 West Kearney Street, Springfield, MO 65803, employees were exposed to fall hazards greater than four feet without any means of fall protection. Employees were working at heights of approximately 8 feet, 9 inches while installing air-conditioning units on the roofs of transit vans. The employer did not assess the hazards of working atop the transit vans or implement the use of appropriate personal protective protection. The vans were positioned beneath overhead I-beams that could have been used to anchor feasible personal fall protection systems.
