Employees were throwing roofing materials off a residential roof onto the ground level, thereby exposing an employee to struck-by hazards from falling objects.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b): a) On or about July 23, 2025, at the above addressed jobsite, employees performing residential roofing operations, twenty-two (22') feet three (3") inches above the ground, were not protected from falls, thereby exposing the employees to fall hazards. b) On or about July 23, 2025, at the above addressed jobsite, employees performing residential roofing operations, eighteen (18') feet four (4") inches above the ground, were not protected from falls, thereby exposing the employees to fall hazards. Felix Castillo Bautista was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1750365, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on October 04, 2024, with respect to a workplace located at 2458-2460 Timber Wood Ct., Joliet, IL.
