29 CFR 1910.179(g)(3)(ix):Remote-operated cranes shall function so that if the control signal for any crane motion becomes ineffective the crane motion shall stop. a.) On or about August 1, 2025, located on assembly line #2 within AP build area of department #852 the employer failed to ensure remote-operated cranes stopped all functions when the control signal was lost while employees married a truck cab, that was lowered from a crane on a monorail system, to the truck frame, in that the "Demag" wireless remote lost signal during the cab carriers descent and continued downward instead of stopping when all control was lost creating a crushed-by hazard. a.) On or about August 6, 2025, located on assembly line #2 within AP build area of department #852 the employer failed to ensure remote-operated cranes stopped all functions when the control signal was lost while employees married a truck cab, that was lowered from a crane on a monorail system, to the truck frame, in that the "Demag" wireless remote lost signal during the cab carriers descent and continued downward in a bouncing motion instead of stopping when all control was lost creating a crushed-by hazard as the van-cab partially bounced out of the carrier onto the frame.
