29 CFR 1910.178(o)(1): The employer did not ensure that only stable or safely arranged loads were handled:  Location - Main building loading dock platform and SIPS loading dock platform.  On or about 8/7/2025, the employer did not ensure that employees only handled safely arranged or stable loads when operating powered industrial trucks (PITs).  While operating the sit-down type powered industrial trucks (PITs) carrying pallets and boxes of mail, employees push additional pallets that are not on the forks of the PIT, rendering this material being pushed unstable.  U.S. Postal Service dba Middlesex Essex Processing and Distribution Center (MEPDC) was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 29 CFR 1910.178(o)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1738562, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on April 23, 2025, with respect to a workplace located at 76 Main Street, North Reading, MA 01889.
