OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were not protected from the hazard of high heat while performing their jobs duties. a) On or about July 30, 2025, at 2182 Corine Court S, Saint Petersburg, FL 33707, employees were exposed to the hazard of high heat from the sun during the performance of their job duties while conducting landscaping activities. The Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) ranged from 27?- 34? (81 ? to 94?) with a calculated heat index of 33?- 43? (92 ? to 109?) while working outdoors for approximately 8-12 hours performing light to moderate labor and wearing a short sleeve shirt and pants. Such exposures are likely to lead to the development of serious heat-related illnesses such as, but not limited to, heat cramps, heat stress, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.
