29 CFR 1910.252(b)(2)(iii): Workers and other persons adjacent to the welding area were not required to wear appropriate goggles, to protect them from the rays when noncombustible or flameproof screens or shields were not used:  a) Welding Area:  On or about August 14, 2025, and at times prior, employees were exposed to health hazards associated with arc welding operations, in that the employer did not ensure that noncombustible or flameproof screens or shields were used to enclose carbon steel welding areas. In addition, adjacent employees, including those performing other tasks or passing through the area by forklift or on foot, were not required to wear appropriate eye protection. As a result, workers were exposed to harmful rays from arc welding operations.
