29 CFR 1910.95(c)(1): The employer did not administer a continuing, effective hearing conservation program as described in 29 CFR 1910.95(c) through (o) whenever employee noise exposures equaled or exceeded an 8-hour time-weighted average sound level of 85 decibels measured on the A scale or, equivalently, a dose of fifty percent: (a) On line 7 and 8, an operator was exposed to noise levels at 103.8% of the permissible 8-hour TWA (90 dBA). The equivalent dBA level of 103.8% is approximately 90.2 dBA. Sampling was performed for 481 minutes during one shift. (b) On line 7 and 8, a packer was exposed to noise levels at 68.9% of the permissible 8-hour TWA (90 dBA). The equivalent dBA level of 68.9% is approximately 87.3 dBA. Sampling was performed for 483 minutes during one shift. (c) On line 9 and 10, an operator was exposed to noise levels at 108.6% of the permissible 8-hour TWA (90 dBA). The equivalent dBA level of 108.6% is approximately 90.5 dBA. Sampling was performed for 481 minutes during one shift. (d) On line 9 and 10, a packer was exposed to noise levels at 81% of the permissible 8-hour TWA (90 dBA). The equivalent dBA level of 81% is approximately 88.4 dBA. Sampling was performed for 481 minutes during one shift. (e) On line 11, an operator was exposed to noise levels at 74.2% of the permissible 8-hour TWA (90 dBA). The equivalent dBA level of 74.2% is approximately 87.8 dBA. Sampling was performed for 477 minutes during one shift. (f) Throughout the production area, a process technician was exposed to noise levels at 93.7% of the permissible 8-hour TWA (90 dBA). The equivalent dBA level of 93.7% is approximately 89.5 dBA. Sampling was performed for 479 minutes during one shift.
