29 CFR 1926.754(d)(1): When deemed necessary by a competent person, plumbing-up equipment was not installed in conjunction with the steel erection process to ensure the stability of the structure: Location: a) Worksite located at 27 County Road, Jersey City, NJ 07307; Scrap metal yard a) On or about 8/11/2025, employees were engaged in steel erection activities such as constructing a metal hopper. Terex Fuchs material handlers, John Deere wheel loaders, and similar equipment were used to place the metal walls in a vertical position. The employer did not ensure that plumbing-up or bracing was in place to prevent the metal walls from falling. The metal wall fell inward and crushed an employee which resulted in a hospitalization.

Location: a) Worksite located at 27 County Road, Jersey City, NJ 07307; Scrap metal yard a) On or about 8/11/2025, an employee was engaged in steel erection activities such as constructing a metal hopper. The metal wall fell inward and crushed an employee which resulted in a hospitalization. The employer did not report within 24-hours the work-related incident which resulted in in-patient hospitalization of the injured employee.
