29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652 (b) or (c): On or about 08/27/2025, at the job site located near SW Village Parkway and Becker Road, Port Saint Lucie, Florida, employees were exposed to struck-by, engulfment and asphyxiation hazards while laying pipe in a 7-foot deep excavation without a means of cave-in protection. Sunline Civil Construction Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.652(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1623119, citation number 1, item number 2, and was affirmed as a final order on 03-24-2023, with respect to a workplace located at 1000 SW Village Boulevard, Port Saint Lucie, Florida, 34952.
