At the jobsite located at 24068 Austin St., Oak Grove, MO 64075, employees were exposed to cave-in and struck-by hazards while working in an excavation with a spoil pile located less than two feet away from the excavation. The employees were conducting foundation repair activities.

29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1):Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652 (b) or (c). At the jobsite located at 24068 Austin St., Oak Grove, MO 64075, employees were exposed to cave-in hazards while working in an excavation that was not in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652(c)(1). In lieu of following the requirements in appendices A and C, timber shoring made of 3/4" plywood and 2x4" lumber was used.
