29 CFR 1910.179(j)(2)(ii): The frequent inspections did not cover the deterioration or leakage in lines, tanks, valves, drain pumps, and other parts of air or hydraulic systems:   a.)  Fleming Steel Company, Inc.  - On or about  10/23/25, and at times prior thereto, the frequent crane inspections did not address leaks of that may occur on the cranes.  The cranes included, but were not limited to, overhead crane - DEMAG, 10 ton, Model #P625H13N, serial #00010049/Gantry cranes: P & H, 1 ton, Serial #RA77039?P & H, 1 ton, model #67359-1-266/Coffing, 1 ton, serial #JM5140NU.   ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below).  This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

29 CFR 1910.179(j)(2)(iii):Crane hooks were not inspected on a monthly basis and a certification record was not maintained that included the date of inspection, the signature of the person who performed the inspection and the serial number, or other identifier, of the hook inspected.   a.) Fleming Steel Company, Inc. - On or about 10/23/25, and at times prior thereto, the frequent crane inspections did not include monthly inspections of hooks for cracks or having more than 15 percent in excess of normal throat opening or more than 10� twist from the plane of the unbent hook . Cranes included, but were not limited to, DEMAG, 10 ton, Model #P625H13N, serial #00010049/Gantry cranes: P & H, 1 ton, Serial #RA77039?P & H, 1 ton, model #67359-1-266/Coffing, 1 ton, serial #JM5140NU   b.) Fleming Steel Company, Inc. - On or about 10/23/25, and at times prior thereto, the company was not maintaining a certification record of monthly hook inspections. This occurred on the DEMAG, 10 ton crane, Model #P625H13N, Serial #00010049.  b.) Fleming Steel Company, Inc. - On or about 10/23/25, and at times prior thereto, the periodic  crane inspection records indicated the last periodic inspection was August 2023.  This occurred on Gantry crane: P & H, 1 ton, Serial #RA77039. Coffing, 1 ton, serial #JM5140NU  c.)  Fleming Steel Company, Inc. - On or about 10/23/25, and at times prior thereto, the periodic crane inspection records indicated the last periodic inspection was August 2023.
