When wet processes are used, drainage must be maintained and, to the extent feasible, dry standing places, such as false floors, platforms, and mats must be provided. On November 19, 2025, at a workplace located at 850 Stanton Street, Ripon, Wisconsin; the floor of each workroom was not maintained in a clean condition. Accumulations of fugitive combustible powdered non-fat milk dust were present on the floors of the 3rd and 4th floors of the Silo area. Employees were exposed to hazards from fire, flash fires and deflagration.

29 CFR 1910.307(c): Equipment, wiring methods, and installations of equipment in hazardous (classified) locations shall be intrinsically safe, approved for the hazardous (classified) location, or safe for the hazardous (classified) location: On November 19, 2025, at a workplace located at 850 Stanton Street, Ripon, Wisconsin; equipment, wiring methods, and installation of equipment on the 3rd and 4th floors of the Silo area were neither intrinsically safe, approved for Class II locations, or safe for Class II locations due to the presence of combustible powdered non-fat milk dust. Standard electrical equipment included equipment such as, but not limited to overhead lighting, an inwall exhaust fan, electrical panels, and electrical conduit, junction, switches, and outlet boxes. Employees were exposed to hazards from fire, flash fires and deflagration.
